SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

GLYNN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

W. HAROLD PATE BUILDING

1725 REYNOLDS STREET, 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM

TUESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2015 AT 3:00 PM

 

PRESENT:                     Dale Provenzano, Chairman, District 2

Richard Strickland, Vice Chairman, District 3

Michael Browning, Commissioner, District 1

Bill Brunson, Commissioner, District 4

Allen Booker, Commissioner, District 5

Mark Stambaugh, Commissioner, At Large Post 1

Bob Coleman, Commissioner, At Large Post 2

 

ALSO PRESENT:           Alan Ours, County Administrator

Aaron Mumford, County Attorney

 

Discussion was held regarding the following items:

 

1.         The post-employment benefits for employees (Derrick Cowart of KRT CPAs)

 

2.         Marshes of Glynn Libraries Road Map Master Plan (G. Mullis)

 

3.         Proposed improvements at the Coast Guard and Massengale Parks. (Ussery Rule Architects)

 

4.         Requirements for Alcohol Ordinance pertaining to package stores as it relates to distance requirements.

 

These items were for discussion purposes only; no Board action was taken.

 

5.         Consider approval of an agreement with the producers of “Junk Food Flip”, a Cooking Channel television series, to allow filming on St. Simons in the Neptune Park area for an upcoming episode.

 

            A motion was made by Commissioner Strickland and seconded by Commissioner Browning to approve this item. The motion carried unanimously.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION/POST EXECUTIVE SESSION ACTION

 

A motion was made by Commissioner Strickland and seconded by Commissioner Coleman to adjourn to executive session to discuss pending and potential litigation. The motion carried unanimously.

 

Back in Session

 

A motion was made by Commissioner Strickland and seconded by Commissioner Browning to adjourn executive session and reenter regular session. The motion carried unanimously.

 

A motion was made by Commissioner Stambaugh and seconded by Commissioner Browning to accept the County Attorney’s recommendations. The motion carried 6-0-1 with Commissioner Coleman abstaining.
