INVOCATION & PLEDGE

 

County Issues:

 

1.        Presentation by Acting County Administrator and Finance Director regarding the revenue sources and expenditures of the Glynn County Board of Commissioners.  (October 5, 1999 Joint Meeting Directive.)

 


 

The Board heard from the following person(s)

Florence Dees, Tax Commissioner

 

Informational purposes only.  No Board action required nor taken at this time.

 

2.        Discussion regarding City of Brunswick Water/Wastewater Department metering the County=s wastewater from City to County.   (This item was deferred to the November 9, 1999 Joint Meeting agenda.)

 

The Board heard from the following person(s)

 

Uli Keller, Administrative Analyst, Acting Water/Sewer Director

Bill Powell, City Water & Sewer Director

Elmo Richardson, Water & Sewer Engineer, City of Brunswick

Robert Benson, Engineering Manager, Glynn County Water/Sewer Dept.

 

After brief discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Jerome Clark, seconded by Chairperson Robertson (Commissioner Jennings) directing that the water and sewer engineering staff of the City and County along with both city and county attorney=s get together and come up with recommendations for final determination of the issue with in 30 days.  Unanimously approved with Commissioner Dowdy absent.

 

3.        Consider requesting City=s participation in the 20% match for the Scrap Tire Grant Program.  (R. Rowell)

4.                  Report regarding cost of study to determine feasibility of combining certain services.  (R. Harris)

 

The Board heard from the following person(s)

Informational purposes only.  No Board action required nor taken at this time.  This item to be placed on the next joint meeting set for January 4, 2000.

 

City Issues:


 

1.                  Discussion regarding alleged illegal activities in the Arco area and explanation of the City/County Boundary line for the area.  (J. Williams)

 

After brief discussion, a motion was made by Jonathan Williams (Chairperson

Robertson), seconded by Commissioner Tullos directing the City and County Police

Chief=s to examine the concerns regarding illegal activity in the Arco area and bring

recommendations back to the joint governing bodies at the January 4, 2000 meeting.

 Unanimously approved with Commissioner Dowdy absent.          

 

2.                  Discussion regarding the City/County Automatic Aid Agreement.  (L.  Frey)

 

After brief discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Woodman, seconded by Commissioner Jerome Clark to approve the City/County Automatic Aid Agreement as presented.  Unanimously approved with Commissioner Dowdy absent.

 

There being no further business, meeting adjourned.
