MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2000 AT 4:00 PM

INVOCATION & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE



1. Consider a correction to the November 16, 2000 action of the Board of Commissioners regarding General Business Agenda Item number 18, to change the referenced public hearing date from December 5, 2000 to December 7, 2000. (V. Mincey)



After brief discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Tullos seconded by Commissioner Jerome Clark to approve the above referenced corrections to the November 16, 2000 minutes. Motion carries with a vote of 5-0 with Commissioner Robertson and Commissioner Woodman absent.



2. Consider approval of the draft Greenspace Plan and Resolution for submittal to Georgia DNR. (D. Newbern)



After brief discussion a motion was made by seconded by to approve the draft Greenspace Plan and Resolution with amendments as recommended by the County Attorney. Motion carries with a vote of 5-0 with Commissioner Robertson and Commissioner Woodman absent.



3. Consider rescinding the resolution for the performance of the Tax Assessors Audit. (J. Chapman)

After brief discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Chapman seconded by Commissioner Dowdy to rescind the Board of Commissioner November 16, 2000 action regarding a resolution to the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Revenue requesting an audit of the Tax Assessors office. Motion carries with a vote of 5-0 with Commissioner Robertson and Commissioner Woodman absent.



After further discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Chapman seconded by Commissioner Dowdy authorizing the Chairman to send a letter to the Georgia Department of Revenue requesting that they send a representative from the Department of Audits to a meeting of the Board of Commissioners in the near future to explain Glynn County's current sales-assessment ratio study results and what implications can be drawn from it about the Board of Tax Assessors performance. Motion carries with a vote of 6-0 with Commissioner Robertson absent.



  • Review the revenue, expenditures and status of SPLOST 3 projects.



At the request of the Budget Team this item has been removed from the agenda and requires no Board action at this time.



  • Discussion regarding budget goals for upcoming FY 01-02. (Budget Team)



After brief discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Jerome Clark seconded by Commissioner Woodman to reinstate $1,900.00 into the upcoming FY 01-02 budget for the for National Guard.

The remaining portion of discussion regarding this item was for informational purposes no other Board action was taken at this time.



There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
