Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax to begin collection April 1, 2017

GLYNN COUNTY, GA - On November 8, 2016, the Glynn County voters supported the Glynn County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The maximum period of time for which the SPLOST shall be imposed shall be fourteen (14) calendar quarters for the raising of an estimated amount of $71,595,000. This one percent sales tax starts April 1, 2017 and ends September 30, 2020 (or until the amount is received) and will be charged on all goods and services. Remittance of these tax proceeds should be made by the businesses to the Georgia Department of Revenue (as posted on their website http://dor.ga.gov) along with all other sales and use taxes as required by law.
