Based on advice presented by General Counsel C. Ryan Germany of the Secretary of State’s office, we have rescinded the call to hold a separate Special Election to consider SB 509.  The State has advised this referendum is not a Special Election.  Therefore, it can be placed on the November 3, 2020 General (Presidential) Election.

Following the recommendation from the Secretary of the State General Counsel, the Board has moved to place SB 509 on the General Election ballot.   We hope this decision will better serve the voters of Glynn County.

Covid19 Elections Alert 

We understand the ongoing COVID-19 situation has caused public concern about voting in November.  Absentee voting and Early voting will be available to all voters of Glynn County and the polls will be open on Election Day.  Absentee applications can be returned by mail, e-mail, or fax.  A ballot drop box is outside our office for voters wishing to drop off their application, ballot, or a voter registration application.  We are already processing absentee applications.  Applications will be due to our office by October 30.  Ballot mailing will begin the week of September 15.  Early voting will begin October 12.

Voters who rely on in-person voting will still be able to cast their ballot on the new voting system.  Poll workers will be given resources to maintain clean voting equipment and manage lines to support social distancing.
