The County Manager's Office works directly with the Board of Commissioners to provide support on policy matters. In addition, the office provides guidance to county departments regarding their day to day operations and works to develop short and long range plans that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of county government. The County Manager's Office responds to citizens concerns.

Alan started his career in local government with Lexington County, SC in 1982. Over the past 36 years, he has served with various local governments in South Carolina and Georgia.

Has served as County Manager in Lowndes County, GA, Pickens County, SC, Lee County, GA and Glynn County, GA.
Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Winthrop College. 2001 Graduate of the South Carolina Executive Institute.
Alan has been married to wife Elizabeth for over 35 years. The couple has ten children, five grandchildren, and reside in south Glynn County. Alan and his family are members of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Brunswick.
