Facilities Maintenance is a Division of the Public Works Department, with fourteen (14) full-time staff positions.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining approximately 108 county facilities. These buildings support approximately 775 county employees and approximately 75 state employees.
Facilities maintained are:
58 office buildings
16 bath houses
15 storage sheds
22 picnic pavilions
These facilities encompass:
Over 499,000 sq. ft.
11,500 assorted light bulbs
166 restrooms (over 300 sinks, 290 toilets and 70 urinals, 45 water coolers, and 152 hose bibs)
100 residential-style air conditioners
6 air-cooled chillers
1 water-cooled chiller.
Overseeing the budget and maintenance of 131 electrical services, 36 water services, 6 gas services, 56 septic tanks and 7 lift stations.
Managing the contracts for pest control, elevator maintenance, generator maintenance, A/C maintenance, janitorial service and warranties on new buildings and equipment.
Maintaining and annual testing of all fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire suppression and security systems.
Providing services to all Glynn County Parks and Recreation facilities, local and state licensing offices and the Golden Isles Development Center.
Providing HVAC services to the State Public Health Facility and Three Rivers Regional Library. Facilities Maintenance provides management for contract services such as HVAC, electrical services, plumbing, lift station maintenance, roofing, remodeling and historic renovations.
