Public Information Officer and Community Outreach Liaison

The Public Information Officer serves as the Glynn County Police Department's voice to the community. The PIO is responsible for media relations which includes press releases, coordination of media requests and interviews, social media posts and community events.  This position builds a strong relationship with the media and provides information to the public in a timely manner.  

As the Community Outreach Liaison for GCPD, Officer Wilson is the single point of contact for all community engagement functions and programs. The Glynn County Police believes this will be an effective method for the community to stay in touch with us and more importantly, for us to stay connected to the citizens of Glynn County.  As the Community Outreach Liaison, Officer Wilson will assist in coordination of many internal and external projects involving community engagement and outreach initiatives.  Those programs will include community presentations, the Chaplain corps, volunteer programs, neighborhood watch groups, events such as National Night Out, department service projects, and social media.  The Community Outreach Liaison will also schedule officers and staff to speak at churches, community groups, home owners' associations and other programs throughout Glynn County.

Officer Wilson has over twenty-one years of military and law enforcement experience. He has served as a peace officer in every level of law enforcement from the most diverse city in America, Clarkston, GA to a rural county sheriff's office.  Officer Wilson Joined GCPD in August of 2020 and has served in Patrol and Investigations Divisions.
