Assistant County Administrator
Becky Rowell
Professional Experience: Has enjoyed a lengthy career in local government management while being employed in several capacities with Glynn County since 1990. Over the past almost 20 years, Mrs. Rowell has held positions to include Assistant Public Works Director, Human Resources Director and Acting County Administrator. She is also a Certified Emergency Manager. Prior to working in government, she worked as a licensed speech pathologist.
Civic and Community Experience: Board Member & Volunteer-Coastal Georgia Medical Access Project; Poll Manager; Ordained Deacon at Christ Church Frederica; Graduate- Leadership Glynn 1988-89; Co-chair- Leadership Glynn 1990-91; Honoree- 2001 YWCA Tribute to Women Leaders.
Government Experience: Five years as Assistant County Administrator, responsible for emergency management coordination, water/wastewater and solid waste operational contracts and chair of the Budget Team which prepares the annual budget. Work on specific projects, such as ordinance revisions and federal compliance standards.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology-UGA; Master of Education in Speech Pathology-UGA; Master of Public Administration-Georgia Southern University.
Personal: Ms. Rowell is originally from Moultrie, GA. She resides on St. Simons Island with her husband where they attend Christ Church Frederica.
