Glynn County Planning and Zoning Division

 The Mission of the Planning & Zoning Division is: “To help guide the appropriate growth and development of Glynn County to produce a successful community that is a pleasant place in which to live, work, and play.”

    Glynn County is growing, with new houses and subdivisions, new shopping centers and apartments, and renovation of many areas. This growth demands that we deal with new roads, sewers, and other public facilities, and that both new development and redevelopment follow the appropriate procedures and standards. In addition, the citizens and leaders of Glynn County expect this new development and redevelopment to meet quality and functionality standards; and expect the facilities, needed to serve the development, to be adequate.

The planning process...

As practiced by local governments, the planning process produces a common understanding of where our community is, where it wants to go, and how to get there. This understanding then guides the actions we take, that influence the physical form of the community. These actions include regulation of development, provision of infrastructure, and management of the environment.
