Description
The Glynn County Board of Commissioners holds regular meetings on the first and third Thursday of each month.
The Commissioners serve staggered terms of four years. Two are elected at large and five are elected by district. The Board chooses its Chairman on a yearly basis.
The County seat is Brunswick, with a population of 15,600. There are no other incorporated communities.

The Glynn County Courthouse was built 1991, and the jail was built in 1988. The County operates an emergency ambulance service, provides rural fire protection county-wide with volunteer firefighters, planning and zoning, building code enforcement, building permits, subdivision regulations, sign ordinance, impact fees, animal control and shelter. The County offers water and sewer in some sectors, a police department, a recreation department, several parks, a library, an airport, and a public recycling program. |
